One of the greatest injustices that Maltese people have put up with through the years under umpteen administrations both labour and nationalist is the payment of meter rents on utility bills. Imagine walking into a shop and being asked to pay rent on the shops cash register. Why should we pay for the equipment used to keep track of our consumption. We pay for the service. Meter rent removal should have been on the PN proposals , commercial outlets pay around € 500 per year in rents , why?
The rent of meters is too high, sometimes exceeding consumption in unused holiday flats in winter.
Makes alot of sense and would benefit everyone. I am single and my bills are high becasue people living alone have no subsidy.
